Rahul Gandhi will take over as the Congress president on December 11, right when the Gujarat polls are being held. This after the Congress Working Committee declared the dates for its internal organisational polls, but the question still remains - Can a re-packaged Rahul really change the Congress fortunes? Is it simply a coronation?

Also, there have always been critics of Congress and of the Gandhi family right from the days of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, but the party has been always committed to serving the people of India. Rahul has effectively led Congress since 2014. Since then, he has revived the Congress, both within the Parliament and outside of it," said Congress spokesperson Gaurav Gogoi.
