Before Mani Shankar Aiyar, Priyanka Gandhi had made ‘neech' jibe at PM Narendra Modi
New Delhi: Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Thursday stoked yet another controversy when he called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a "neechkisam ka aadmi".
This is not the first time Aiyar has resorted to making personal attacks on Prime Minister Modi. In 2014, in the run-up to General Elections, Aiyar had called Modi, then a candidate for the PM post, a "chaiwallah". He had also confidently predicted that Modi would never become the Prime Minister.

During the same period, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had alleged hit out at Narendra Modi and accused him of indulging in “neech rajniti”.
Later, two Bihar BJP leaders had filed separate cases against Priyanka Gandhi for her ‘neech rajniti’ barb even as Rahul Gandhi defended his sister, saying people’s actions are low, not their caste.
“Jaati nahi, karm neech hote hain (It is not caste but ones' action that are low),” he had said when asked by reporters in Amethi about the controversy.
“Neech soch hoti hai, gusse ki soch hoti hai, krodh ki soch hoti hai. (It is ideology which is low. There is an ideology of anger),” Rahul had said
